Don’t Wait For Health Care Reform

by Sue Rostvold on September 20, 2009

The health care system in the United States is broken, and has been for a long time. It seems that more people are turned down for health insurance than accepted. We can not wait for U.S. Health Care Reform to make us healthier. Allan and I have decided to get even more serious about our health care since we both turn fifty this year. We started this site so that we can share articles, thoughts and ideas about healthy living. When it comes to our health, nothing matters more than the food we choose to eat. Incorporating fresh vegetables and brown rice into your diet is a small change that can have a huge impact on the quality of your health.

Michelle Obama decided to plant a large garden at the White House, and she included local school children in the project. She says, “We wanted the focus to be on kids because you can affect children’s behavior so much more easily that you can adults.” The video below shows the children planting, cooking and eating their harvest.

“The Garden is really an important introduction to what I hope will be a new way that our country thinks about food.”
